Get ready to grow something amazing this spring! The ABSR Environment Committee is excited to announce our Native Plant Sale, where you will find a stunning selection of locally native plants that thrive in our region's soil and climate.

The sale includes the following flats, each of which contains 50 small plants. At this time it is not possible to mix and match, so orders must be placed for full flats. For detailed information about the number and specific plants in each flow, follow the links below.

Prairie Garden Flat features a selection of core native species that are deer resistant, will perform well in well-draining soil, and fundamental to a native plant garden. The kit includes several key pollinator species which prefer dry to mesic soil and grow well in full/part sun.
Monarch Garden Flat features native flowers, including 3 varieties of milkweed, which provide food and nectar sources for Monarch butterflies to thrive. The included plants prefer sun/part-sun and will grow well in mesic soils.
The Prairie Grass Flat contains a mix of deeply rooted grasses and sedges. These species are low-maintenance, will thrive in full-sun, and prefer medium/dry soil.
Our Rain Garden Flat contains a diverse mix of plants that are suited to short-term flooding and temporary drought conditions. The selected plants while soaking up additional rainwater will create a colorful sanctuary for birds and butterflies, prefer sun/part shade.
The Shade Flat contains a mix of shade loving wildflowers, sedges, and grasses for season-long interest. The mix of plants will perform well in shade/part-shade and prefers medium soil.

The Environment Committee expects plants to be received in early-mid June. Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund the rehabiliation of the Rebora Plaza median.

Prairie Garden Flat

The Basic Prairie Garden Flat features a selection of core native species that are deer resistant, will perform well in

Monarch Garden Flat

The Monarch Garden Flat features native flowers, including 3 varieties of milkweed, which provide food and nectar sources for Monarch butterflies to thrive. The includedplants prefer sun/part-sun and will grow well in mesic soils.
